Dr. Luce spent most of his early life in Lubbock, Texas. He earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Chemistry at Texas Tech University in 1981, and graduated from University of Texas-Houston Dental School in 1985. After graduation her completed a one-year General Practice Residency at the U.T. Health Science Center San Antonio where he stayed on as a faculty member. He is responsible for teaching the residents conscious sedation, medical emergencies, and oral surgery techniques.
Dr. Luce is has active memberships in the prestigious Seattle Study Club, The American Dental Association, the Texas Dental Association, and the San Antonio Dental District Society, and, the American Dental Society of Anesthesiology. He is a Fellow in the College of Conscious sedation.
He has lectured in the U.S. and abroad, primarily on the subject of conscious sedation techniques, and medical emergencies related to dentistry. He has also served on various committees of the state dental licensing board regarding the safe administration of conscious sedation.
When Dr. Luce is not doing dentistry, he enjoys traveling, water skiing, snow skiing, exercising, and outdoor activities. He has been married to Dr. Dreher since 1995 and has 2 grown children. A few interesting facts about him; He enjoys anything with wings; sailing and flying his ultralight airplane. He would love to be an astronaut and go to space!
